A general election has been called in The Bahamas, with a date set for Thursday, September 16th, 2021.

While Voter Registration is closed, all REGISTERED voters overseas must complete Form J to participate in the advanced overseas vote and be a Bahamian Citizen posted or enrolled overseas, who remains ordinarily residents in The Bahamas.

According to 49A of the Parliamentary Elections Act (2021) the following categories are eligible to participate in the advanced poll:
* Staff Members of any Embassy, High Commission, Foreign Mission, or
* Staff Members of the Bahamas Maritime Authority, or
* Public Officers or Staff Members of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism abroad,
* Students currently enrolled in bona fide studies at universities and colleges abroad, or
* Spouses of said Students, Foreign Officers or said Public Officers of Bahamas Government Agencies, or
* Immediate family members living within the household of the members of staff.

If you are eligible to vote, alongside the Form J, please email the following documents no later than Thursday, 26 August, 2021 at 3:00PM ET to info@consulateofthebahamasdc.com :
* Voter’s Card
* Passport identification page
* U.S. Visa
* I-20 Form Students
* Any other supporting documents
