BAAWMAR Website Payment/Contributions Policy

1. The Board of The Bahamian American Association of the Washington, DC & Mid-Atlantic Region, Inc. (hereafter identified as BAAWMAR) shall have the right to refuse contributions, gifts or grants that do not enhance, promote, and ensure further the purpose and mission of BAAWMAR and the long-term financial viability of the Association.

2. BAAWMAR will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of contributions, gifts or grants and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers to assist them in the process of making their donation.

3. All contributions, gifts or grants, regardless of value, form, or stipulations, shall be acknowledged by BAAWMAR in the form of a written substantiation, including a receipt if done via the BAAWMAR website.

4. All information about donors and prospective donors, including but not limited to their names, the names of their beneficiaries, the nature and amounts of their gifts, and the sizes of their estates will be kept confidential by BAAWMAR and its representatives, unless the donor grants permission to release such information. All requests by donors for anonymity will be honored, except to the extent that BAAWMAR is required by law to disclose the identity of donors.
