We are pleased to advise that this year’s annual picnic in celebration of the 52nd Anniversary of Bahamian Independence will take place on Saturday, July 19th from 1:00 – 5:00 pm ET at US Coast Guard Base on 7323 Telegraph Road in Alexandria, Virginia.
Join us for a feast of Bahamian food, with portions like grammy’s Sunday dinner, cooked by our very own Bahamian Chef Wildron Knowles, including peas n’ rice, macaroni, conch fritters and more!
Food will be served between 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
We will also have drinks, music, trivia, games and prizes!
Given the security requirements for our venue, only those registered will be allowed access to the Base and ID will need to be shown at the venue entrance.
In order to help defray costs, registration for the picnic will require a donation from BAAWMAR members, non-members (age 13 +) and children (ages 6-12).
Children five and under will not be required to make a donation but their names must have been emailed to baawmar@gmail.com by July 4th, 2025.
